Thank you. I read through this. I didn't see anything about downzaps. Did I miss something? Is there a way to know if I have received downzaps on a post?

Nah, looks like it's not in the faq. We have help text in the downzap dialog.
Basically, downzaps are just zaps in reverse. Assuming an item has 0 sats worth of zaps, after ~3 median trusted stackers downzap a post, or one high trusted stacked spends a lot on a downzap, it gets outlawed until other stackers zap it back in-law.
Is there a way to know if I have received downzaps on a post?

Thank you. So if I see 1000 sats, it could have been I received 2000, and got 1000 down and I wouldn't know how the number got there, right?

If you see 1000 sats, it received 1000 sats. Even if it got a 10000 sat downzap, you'd still see 1000 sats. Downzaps are not reflected in the display of sats, because they just indicate what the OP/item earned.

That makes sense. Thank you for the clarification. It seems like one individual with deep pockets can probably pretty easily make something way less visible, completely anonymously, right?

If they are downzapping things that other people are zapping, they lose trust and their downzaps become ineffective overtime.
