This year in Latvian top tier football league (Virslīga) team who should have finished 3rd (Valmiera FC), got nine points deducted due to regulation breaches (not paying salaries and taxes in time) and, as a result, they finished 4th, five points below FK Auda. Auda after season gave away their bronze medals to Valmiera, as they wanted to win on the field, not this way.
