- A transgender athlete should be allowed to compete in the women's division at powerlifting events because she's protected against discrimination by the Minnesota Human Rights Act, her attorneys urged the state Supreme Court on Tuesday. USA Powerlifting rejected JayCee Cooper's application in 2018 to compete in the women's division of its events on the ground that she enjoys strength advantages over other women. Cooper sued in 2021, and the trial court sided with her.

- The worm is the larva of a metallic blue-green fly that spends the early part of its life cycle devouring the living flesh of mammals. Infestations can be fatal. Cows are the screwworm’s favorite feast, but the maggots can also feed on other livestock as well as wildlife and pets. Flies often lay their eggs near open wounds, and if the larvae can find a hole in the skin to deploy their sharp mouth hooks, they will then bury themselves in the animal’s flesh and gorge.

- It’s no coincidence that less than a month after Amazon Prime Video made its advertising tier the default for its subscribers in January, its major retail rival Walmart unveiled a deal to buy television maker Vizio to help power its own foray into raking in connected TV ad dollars. Now, following a monthslong regulatory waiting period, that $2.3 billion-dollar buy closed on Tuesday.
