Let's unfold!

~Bitcoin News of the Day

  • For centuries, self-custody has symbolized financial autonomy, enabling individuals to secure their wealth—from gold to cash—without intermediaries. Bitcoin extends this principle into the digital realm, offering a censorship-resistant, decentralized way to hold assets. Yet, upcoming European regulations under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and the Transfer of Funds Regulation (TFR) threaten to complicate self-custody for Bitcoin users.

  • The IPC is meant to head off famine by sounding alarms that direct food aid to brewing crises. But the tiny watchdog is struggling to operate in areas ridden with conflict – the main driver of hunger today.

  • Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz joined a Republican-led congressional caucus supporting President-elect Donald Trump’s newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, co-led by Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna has said he will work with Musk on certain issues, and Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders recently posted on X that “Elon Musk is right.”.

  • A transgender athlete should be allowed to compete in the women's division at powerlifting events because she's protected against discrimination by the Minnesota Human Rights Act, her attorneys urged the state Supreme Court on Tuesday. USA Powerlifting rejected JayCee Cooper's application in 2018 to compete in the women's division of its events on the ground that she enjoys strength advantages over other women. Cooper sued in 2021, and the trial court sided with her.

  • The worm is the larva of a metallic blue-green fly that spends the early part of its life cycle devouring the living flesh of mammals. Infestations can be fatal. Cows are the screwworm’s favorite feast, but the maggots can also feed on other livestock as well as wildlife and pets. Flies often lay their eggs near open wounds, and if the larvae can find a hole in the skin to deploy their sharp mouth hooks, they will then bury themselves in the animal’s flesh and gorge.

  • Yacht rock is a 21st-century concept popularized by a group of music-obsessed friends—JD Ryznar, Hunter Stair, Dave Lyons, Lane Farnham, and Steve Huey—for the online comedy series Yacht Rock on Channel 101 in 2005, which coincidentally was the same year YouTube launched, helping it become a viral sensation.

  • It’s no coincidence that less than a month after Amazon Prime Video made its advertising tier the default for its subscribers in January, its major retail rival Walmart unveiled a deal to buy television maker Vizio to help power its own foray into raking in connected TV ad dollars. Now, following a monthslong regulatory waiting period, that $2.3 billion-dollar buy closed on Tuesday.

These Transgenders aren't woman at all. They should get their own category.
reply
Didn’t expect Walmart to get into streaming.
reply
Their big pockets don't have holes so they create one.
reply
Yeah these types of non core business investments don't tend to work out well.
reply
The market is already congested with such services and I don't feel there's any place for one more. Walmart will lose this badly.
reply
Now I'm even more confident DOGE will fail miserably.
reply
I sense some kind of conspiracy here. Democrats coming ahead supporting DOGE means they think this will win them the next election.
Democrats have now suddenly become far sighted.
reply
I'm not super familiar with the politicians mentioned, other than Bernie, so they may have decent intentions.
However, it almost definitely means that they see this as an opportunity to make the government better at intervening in Americans' private and economic lives.
reply
I don't think anything except bedroom and toilet habits remain inaccessible for the government. The DOGE wants to access both of these as they can't be private, nothing can be in fact.
reply
Both of those areas of life are also governed by the US Leviathan.
reply
Leviathan
Really? Now I've to say it. India is doing much more better in maintaining private/personal life, not because of government but the religious and traditional mindset of people had never allowed leviathans encroach the personal life.
I think the same 🤔👌

It is a shame for those in government that anyone goes hungry in the 21st century. Technological advances in the agricultural sector can have magnificent efficiency in food production in unfavorable soils and climates, and also deal with great success in eradicating pests. There are no more acceptable excuses!
reply
Under no circumstances should transgenders be allowed to compete in sporting events!! That goes against the principles and would be unfair to the other competitors!!
