well, modern media thrives through conflict. That's the playbook. get one audience mad at you so another audience can passionately defend you online. (It's a structural result from the proliferation of entertainment. When there were three channels, everyone knew what was on TV and scandals were bad. When there's a million things in entertainment, nobody knows who you are, and the fight is what gets you on the map. Literally all Netflix shows work this way, ragebait/defensebait.) And with the "this computer thing isn't real, invest in something you can bite" plus his grey perfectly coiffed hair, he's boomer bait.
That makes sense. I didn't look at it like that. Could be. I kind of forget that people will so easily give you their should for clicks.
