i see the rest of the comment now, and yeah there were definitely some inflection points in 2020... maybe it just took a few years to realize politics was an important battleground for business leaders to win?
Are you asking this question because they supported Trump and he won?
Historically Wall Street and Fortune 500 CEOs voted R because of lower taxation and less regulation
Obama was unusual in that he had financial support from business leaders in 2008
I also forgot to mention October 7, 2023. Democrats have embraced anti Israel and anti Jewish rhetoric. Many business leaders are Jewish ergo they voted for Trump

I've noticed this on both sides. Mark Cuban certainly got louder about politics this year, and he was not supporting Trump.
But in general, I'm thinking more about tech CEOs than bank CEOs here, it seems like it's suddenly become "cool" for them to get involved in politics.
