I've noticed that there are a lot of cat-loving stackers out there, so I'll show you something I know you'll like. In the Miraflores district of Lima there's a place called "Parque Kennedy", better known as the "cat park", they call it that because a lot of cats live in this place, it's common to see people from the community bringing them water and food. Some of the cats are docile and let themselves be petted by the thousands of people who walk by there every day, some people are more loving and pick them up and hug them.
Look at this kitten, he looks like a boss or a king. 2 minutes after this photo was taken, a child pounced on this cat and picked him up and hugged him like he was a stuffed animal. It was hilarious.
These cats are so loved by the community that they have also built small shelters for them at various points in the park.
Of course there are also cat dishes in various places.
If you come to Lima and you like cats, this is definitely a place you should visit.
History:
Kennedy Park (Parque Kennedy) is located in the touristic district of Miraflores and is a popular attraction with both Peruvians and foreigners. It has a large cat colony, comprising both feral and domestic cats. The first two cats were introduced more than 25 years ago by priests from the nearby church for plague control. As those cats reproduced and populated the park with their offspring, people got used to abandoning their unwanted cats in the park, therefore creating the domestic cats colony.
