Some stackers post and their stories almost always become the top story of the day. Nit complaining but this is what I observed.
Friends zapping friends!!
A post that's got 805 sats is still below the post that's got 18 sats, 20 sats on the top filter for he day.
reply
As you probably know, on SN 1 sat is different from 1 sat and on top of that we have downzaping.
reply
I know both. As I said friends zapping friends. May be there's someone who's 1 sat values 100s of times more than the value of 805 sats of different stackers who zapped on my post. I talked about it before as well and it turned out that how much didn't matter to be a top post but 'Who zaps' matters more.
reply
Yes, trust rank has more influence. It's a kind of ranking point multiplier. It's the same thing for downzaping.
reply
Yes, I know. But whenever I see such a huge difference I see 'trust rank' as something that might be a very powerful thing for SN in future.
I'm still to understand how one gains this power on SN.
reply
I don't know the mathematical formula either, but I do know that to gain trust rank you have to receive zaps, preferably high ones, from stackers with high trust rank. zapping hard top posts and comments too.

i am likewise curious how trust gets calculated on stacker news, this is very interesting. is there a post about such an algo? i don't mean to game it, like some, only to understand the attack vectors (of course, that's what a gamer wud also say).
Thanks. Does 'value' mean 'trust score'?

Maybe this means you should consider to be more original instead of doing the same generic stuff over and over again, expecting it will continue to work.
Also, you are still complaining even if you write "I am not complaining" 100x. At least be honest about your feelings.
reply
I'm 1000x honest with my feelings. I've done that post 78 times already and it's been the same. I'll also continue with it in future. I'm not worried about ranks for the post at all. Yes, it's interesting and confusing.

Do you mean the post is a repetition? Or, the title is a repetition? Or something else?
