I have a lot of questions about this idea and I want to know what people think lol cause its not like we only have a couple hundred we have tens of thousands
Biden will probably donate it all to Ukraine
reply
Naw now we are just given them money using the frozen Russian assets lol. Russia really shouldn't have screwed with US business cause with Syria's collapse they are losing their gold and precious metals outlet in Africa.

Mmmhhh... thinking about all this... couldn't it be that he's trying to convince the US government to sell their BTC for him to secretly (maybe through his wife and/or sons or any shell corporations of his) buy part of them for cheap? Just thinking... :-)

"He added that the exercise would end up severely devaluing the dollar, leading to hyperinflation. hyperbitcoinization"

Schiff is such a stubborn asshole.

Not really. Gold and other "classic" assets is "his" business. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if he's already secretly stacking sats (entire BTC, rather).

He has already admitted that his "son" and his "wife" are stackers. I think these admissions, while possibly true, where admitted to as a cover story for his heavy rock clients.
He wants a passable story for his clients so they are not triggered when his BTC wealth is revealed.
reply
Agreed! That would be a good way to cover himself!

I won't say he's not an asshole, but I don't think he's stupid. He understands the problems and I'm sure he also understands the solutions, even when one of them (the best one) doesn't align well with his life long work/interests/convictions/philosophy/whatever.
reply
Oh hes not stupid at all! Honestly, I think that is where a ton of people mess up with BTC though is they overthink the whole thing. His one-off solution though is poor in that as soon as the US government starts moving BTC around the market goes down so the government wouldn't even get top dollar at the time!
reply
For Biden to do this would be a bad faith action...undermining the incoming administrations stated policies.
Pardoning his son is not such a good look, but selling the Bitcoin would be disgraceful.
Trump won the election and has pledged to create a Bitcoin reserve.

It's likely a response to Saylor suggesting to sell the US stockpile of gold.
reply
Isn't Ft Knox EMPTY?
reply
Indeed he be trolling, but the problem is that they might take him seriously. If they sold the ~208k BTC before the next administration, it is likely they will never be able to buy back in <100kUSD/BTC. It might be twice as bad as Germany, at 57kUSD lol!
It would be a foolish move that would set the United States global treasury reserve back 5y or more. Of course the US would bounce back, but it would be a highly dilutive action for the American people in the short term. The strategy of exchanging old shiny rocks for Bitcoin will work for any economy. I say do it, Bitcoin is more useful than physical old Gold cluttering up the vaults.

Remember, China's stash is from PlusToken et al, and the US stash is from Ross, Ilya, Raz and Jimmy (which is really Ross) et al. Other countries must buy, Large states can mine their criminal population for Bitcoin.

I'm all for more cheap sats. Do it!
