  Released on March 1, this album is considered a classic and one of the best-selling albums of all time. It was the best-selling album of the year, though it only spent one week at number one on the Billboard 200.
• Led Zeppelin's Tampa Stadium concert
  Led Zeppelin broke the Beatles' record for largest concert attendance when they played to 56,800 people at Tampa Stadium.
• The Summer Jam at Watkins Glen
  This concert broke Woodstock's record with 600,000 fans in attendance. The Band, The Allman Brothers, and The Grateful Dead performed at the event.
• Some of the top-ten singles in the UK included "Welcome Home" by Peters and Lee, "Block Buster!" by The Sweet, and "Cum On Feel the Noize" by Slade.
