I was really looking forward Dr Goobie's take on the Luigi Mangione case.
For context, Dr Goobie is a trained neuro surgeon, he recently posted a viral video, in which he tells his story, and how he turned his back to his profession. (Check it out, if you haven't already)
Here, he reviews and comments on Luigi Mangione's x-rays, then he explains the perverse incentives in the medical system, how vulnerable patients are lured into expensive and often dangerous surgical procedures, when, in most cases, they would have been better off with lifestyle improvements (sleep, nutrition, social connections etc). It really shows the huge gap between the practice of medicine and the science.
It's quite interesting to watch someone of his calibrer talk about these things.
PS: The video can easily be watched at 2x speed.
quackeryWestern medicine. He decided to do something about it.
