My simple act of kindness today.
Normally, haircut = snooze time. But I noticed that the Japanese hairstylist used English on me. So, Sensei made the extra effort to keep a conversation going with him, taking care to speak slowly and enunciate his words properly. After all, what are the odds that this hairstylist can practise his English with a foreigner at his inaka (countryside) workplace?
If there’s a chance that I can make someone’s day and inject some novelty into the quotidian everyday life, I should step up to the plate.
Incidentally, my haircut was ¥1760, if you must know. A tad more expensive than my haircuts in Singapore, but geez, I feel like I am ten years younger!!!
