I don't think I know why. It's what makes me feel things and what makes me want to move my ass and dance a little (really, just a little, hehe).

There is a subgenre of metal that caters to almost everyone's tastes in some way. And the musicianship seen in metal isn't something I find in a lot of modern genres.
Soul music, because it manages to convey a lot of emotion to me through its amazing vocalists, exuberant melodies and a contagious vibe
I'll say "rock" because it can influence and encompass a wide range of genres.
My favorite music genre is jazz because I find it to be high in depth
Jazz is so deep that it can turn wrong into right ..haha
It's difficult for me to discern the genre of my favorite music. I grew up on alternative rock I would say. So maybe I will go with ~alter_native. 😉

I love many musical genres, including Salsa and Merengue, I love music in all its aspects.
It's a very tough question, because I like many genres of music. I'm not sure if I can narrow it down to one. I would say currently blues, country (90's style and earlier), rock, and metal are my favorites.
Genres are tricky for me anymore though! Some music I consider hard rock is called metal, and then groups I would say are metal are called rock instead. The official label doesn't matter to me though, what's important is what it makes me feel.
