In case anyone else was wondering why you might have experienced issues with Organic Maps or other tools that rely on OSM.
(Outages happen, and this is more notable for how rare any issues with OSM have been.)

OSM is a great project to use and contribute to! I currently use both Magic Earth and Organic Maps offline and they work really well.
