Totally agree that as a result of historically not having a land base Jews quite logically developed portable non land based skills and wealth in the professions. The historical exemption that Jews enjoyed allowed them to specialise in money lending/usury. Christians and Muslim were at most times largely prohibited from engaging in the business of moneylending/usury and so Jews enjoyed a near monopoly and developed it to their full advantage.
That advantage remains today and gives them power and leverage globally and in particular over the US government.
