Free from parenting responsibilities today. Had dessert with my ex-student and had fun catching up on her recent happenings. She is going to start up her own organisation based on her lived experiences with cancer. Wow. She was also empathetic to my parenting struggles, assuring me that they are normal because I am altering my identity. Such a succinct and profound truth. I think I will remember these words for time to come.
