Clearly you are not Japanese or a baseball fan
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shohei_Ohtani
Regarding Japan's future:
Is there a problem with a declining population? Isn’t that what Be-ill Gates and the motherWEFers want? What, a 95% recede, isn’t it?
I think the Japanese will adapt to it through using machines to do the manufacturing that they need. The problem will be the lost skills, though. I think a lot of cultural practices may go by the wayside due to nobody to practice them.

I'm more shocked that someone living in Japan isn't familiar with Shohei ... he could be incarcerated or deported and no one would protest

I think every baseball fan in both the US and Japan would be bellowing with rage if that were to happen. He is here legally, not an invader.

Hahaha, it is because I don't watch TV and almost never watch news. COVID policies forced me to look at the news though to understand weird group behavior (I remember when people were all wearing masks I still didn't have a clue why).
That being said I would think more like Rothbardian_fanatic, and living in Asia is really an experience which makes you optimistic I think. Look at Vietnam or (South) India, everyone are hard working people. To me the biggest issue is the government. How much the government spending will grow and how much will it debase currency and make everyone poorer. But there again I saw advertisements for Mitsubishi gold in the subway of Tokyo when I came back to Japan, so I think people started to notice.
For the demographics, I am fine working after 60yo. The parents of my wife still work after 70yo. If you look at Vietnam people work from 6:00am, I think Asia as a whole really has a hard working culture. Given that, I think the future is bright.

Yes, they work hard only to have corrupt officials scoop it up. They also do something Westerners are not doing now: saving money. Through savings is the only way to improve production.
