On the night of June 23, 1976, in the urban neighborhood of Aricanduva, São Paulo, Brazil, 18-year-old Paulo Coutinho experienced an extraordinary event that would forever alter his life.

Around 11:45 PM, after leaving a night school class, Paulo encountered a phenomenon that defies conventional explanation—a sighting and subsequent abduction by entities described as “very short” beings with unusual physical characteristics.

The incident unfolded beneath the shadowy skies of the city, where Paulo first observed a luminous object in motion. The craft, described as a massive reddish-gray cigar-shaped structure, measured approximately 650 feet in length. From this object emerged a humanoid figure with a large head, pointed ears, and an upturned nose “like a pig’s,” dressed in a tight, bluish-gray suit marked with a chest emblem.

What began as a simple walk home turned into a Close Encounter of the Fourth Kind (CE-IV), as Paulo was taken aboard the craft and subjected to a series of bewildering experiences.

Paulo Coutinho, 18, failed to return home after attending a night school class. The next morning, a friend brought Paulo’s schoolbooks and notebooks to his parents, saying he had found them scattered on the street around midnight.

Despite police inquiries, Paulo could not be located. By evening, many people had gathered at the Coutinho home.

Suddenly, the boy’s father, Jose Alves, felt a strong conviction that his son was safe and would return, as well as an urge to check the back of the garden for signs of him. However, he did not act on this feeling immediately, instead choosing to reassure the family.

Moments later, groans were heard, and upon opening the back garden door, Paulo was discovered lying on the steps, semi-conscious and cold, as though he had been there for some time. He was later revived at a nearby hospital.

The police officer who carried him to the ambulance reported feeling an unusual irritation on his body, especially his arms.

Additionally, ballpoint pens in Paulo’s pockets were found to be highly radioactive. At approximately 7:30 that evening, a neighbor, Virginia, observed a strange luminous object hovering near the Coutinho house roof before it moved away. Her daughter also witnessed the event.
