This headline is irrelevant. People really don't understand probability.
Sometimes it takes less than 10 minutes, sometimes more, but on average it will be 10 minutes per block.
And every 2016 blocks (about 2 weeks) the difficulty is changed to keep the 10 minutes per block on average.

Haha. It happens. I had a transaction waiting for it also. It's no big deal, I'd estimate it probably happens at least once a month.
With the increase in miners taking power from solar and wind farms when they are not in demand this is something that could get to be a problem long term.
