Since it's Christmas today, I want to share these photos with you along with their story, which happened out of nowhere and seemed too special not to share.
A few days ago, I went to visit my aunt and she was staying in her childhood apartment, where she grew up with my father. I'm explaining this because all the neighbors in that building saw me when I was just a baby and a child, they all have an incredible affection for me and until today they all greet me with so much love, even when I don't recognize some of their faces, they remember me and in the end, I end up returning their affection as best I can.
One of the neighbors in the building said, 'Come on, so you can take a photo that I know you'll like.' The man had put together a 'movie-like nativity scene,' as he said... when I went into his house, this is what he showed me:
The man had taken apart an old TV to build the nativity scene inside it... I laughed with great affection, I thought it was very creative of him!
He also showed me the building's mini nativity scene, he told me to take a photo of it to share with my community, asking them not to let the tradition die!
When I entered his home, I saw that it was decorated with many Christmas things and also had a '90s vibe, I found it very warm and homey so I asked him if I could take a photo, he said yes.
The next thing I did was ask the man if he would like me to take a portrait of him and he, thinking that the photos were somehow limited, replied: 'Yes, but with my mom,' and he ran to the room where his mother was, who is unfortunately ill...
After taking that photo with his mother, I explained to him that I could still take a couple more photos, there was no problem, so he wanted a photo in his living room while playing the cuatro...
And the last photo I took of him was when we were already saying goodbye... I wanted to take a photo of him in his most natural state...
For me, these photos were very spontaneous and convey an incredible human warmth.
I hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I did!
Merry Christmas!
