I'm working on a bitcoin mining guide and need your help.
What questions do you have about Bitcoin mining?
What's stopping you from mining at home or in your property?

What's stopping you from mining at home
ASICs are expensive. Electric bill is expensive. The noise is ridiculous. The 'gains' are terrible.
Id rather stack sats and not have to do any of the work that Mining requires.
It's also a privacy/security risk.

How much is thermal cycling an issue for asic chips? Does it shorten the life span of a chip noticeablely if the miner is turn off and on several times a day. Like how people might use a space heater.

Great question

Whats stopping you?
All the new ASIC models are three-phase (380V) which isn't even available in most residential circuits.

Because we all love together, it's the noise that I'm sure they aren't gonna enjoy. Then the atmosphere. It's quite humid around me. 30 degrees feel like 40ish. If I've miners running in that, it'll be extra hot. Also, power supply isn't still 24×7 at my place in India. There are many frequent small trips daily. I thought and made plans of opening a solar powered mining farm but then there were safety concerns related to theft.

The heat might dry up the humidity in your home

Mainly the noise and energy expense. I don't know how well a sound enclosure would help. For the energy, with a small plot of land covered in solar panel, I'm not sure it would be enough to justify the costs of the panels.

wao, I want to know more about BTC mining, recently I have become more interested in this topic, some time ago I tried to make a linux based mining farm to mine Monero XMR but that project was forgotten, recently I tried NiceHash but it gave me error in the authentication factor with the app on my mobile, I wonder if there is a way to mine BTC securely, with LN payments either on Windows or Linux. I would also like to study the subject in more depth, read real documentation on BTC and become more familiar with the topics covered.
Thanks for sharing. sats to all
