Your reference to numbers made me remember of the time I read about baguas. It's delightful, it's ancient algebra at it's finest, even in the way numbers are represented. Do baguas have a presence in modern chinese/japanese culture?

Some Chinese are very into feng shui. I’m not that keen on it but because I’m renovating my house this year, I might engage the services of a geomancer
