About an hour ago Rep. Michael Cloud of Texas, who backs Johnson for the Speakership, went on X and addressed this very issue facing getting the President-elect into office. While he is stating he is working on a Plan C in case of no Speaker to ensure that DJT agenda kicks off on time (Jan. 20). Not sure what he could hope to do cause it's pretty clear and you can't pass any significant legislation without a Speaker so.... the core issue remains but it appears that they are trying to cook up something.
