Mass deportations will wreck Mexico's economy, economist warns

Why is it that immigrants are always talked about as if they are not human beings capable of doing anything for themselves?  Like it's always like someone else's responsibility to provide shelter and care for them?

There's just something weird in the way immigrants are talked about.  It's not anyone's responsibility to take care of you.  If you can't take care of yourself in the country you're migrating to, *why did you migrate?*
