Curious if anyone's seen part one of Kevin Costner's Horizon: An American Saga. It performed rather poorly in theaters, delaying the release of part two, but apparently is doing quite well on streaming: https://www.tomsguide.com/entertainment/netflix/kevin-costners-ambitious-western-epic-just-crashed-the-netflix-top-10-and-its-perfect-for-yellowstone-fans.
My wife and I watched it over the weekend. We enjoyed it, but could see why others wouldn't.
The film covers several storylines which admittedly can be difficult to follow. It reminded me of watching early seasons of Game of Thrones. As I understand, many of these storylines will converge as the saga progresses. I'd be lying if I said we didn't pause and rewind it a few times.
There's as much said as there is left unsaid. If you need everything spelled out for you in dialogue and exposition, this movie may not be for you. And for what's said, the dialogue is definitely reflective of the period. I remember people having similar complaints about Deadwood.
Anyhow, curious what everyone else's thoughts are. I'm hoping part two is released soon. Evidently, part three is in active production. So I'll take that as a good sign.
Oh, yeah! He's really good!

I think people were trying to compare it to Yellowstone, the other cowboy series that Kevin Costner was in. There was bad publicity about him leaving that series to do his, which wasnt true. So it got a lot of hate initially.
