Not a bad list, most of my favourites are in the top 20. The list would have been better if if was the top 50 gaming franchises though.

What else is missing? I think I'd also include Max Payne, instead of GTA5 I'd do GTA:SA. Maybe Transport Tycoon...

Civilization being missing is definitely a travesty. I think if the editor went back they'd realize that was a mistake.
Personally, I'd put Planescape: Torment on there, but I know it's a bit of a niche game.
I think Monkey Island deserves to be on too, as a representative of the adventure genre.
Not everyone liked it, but I'd put Heavy Rain on my list too.
Didn't realize that Heroes 3 wasn't on the list at all. Heroes 3 absolutely deserves to be on the list, it's still one of the most played old games and the top selling game on GOG I think.

I guess it depends on a person. In my opinion this is a solid list that includes many of the games I'd select.

It is missing a lot of ground breaking games. Once I saw Celeste on here and Fortnite I could tell this list is for the causal gamer.

I appreciate how Celeste happened - it was first developed for pico8 console and it was such a major hit that they rewrote it for other systems and put it on Steam.
What games would you put instead?

I think I would have considered Celeste, because it to some degree started a category of games.
