The tests are written in Python. Improve them!
I personally did a bit of work improving the script/opcode tests back in the day. Lots of interesting consensus-critical details there.

Probably. Or at least you can learn while you're doing it. I haven't looked at that code for awhile. But I don't recall it being especially tricky or anything.
