@k00b would there be a way for you to create a post that we can zap for this event that doesn't take sybil fees?

We'd need to create a new post type (and without the sybil fee, aggregate values would need to be adjusted for the reduced confidence in money actually changing hands).
We have our hands a little too full right now, but it's something that I will be happy to add in the future - a satraiser post type.

I figured it wasn't as simple as I hoped.

That would be fantastic. Could you also make a fundraiser post type please?
reply

That's what a satraiser post type would be. Raising sats for charity or community events.
reply
I fundraiser like geyser fund which allows everyone to post projects to recieve some funds for a startup or an idea.
Satsraiser in your way seemed more like raising funds for a community cause.

Agreed. Do you want to do it or do you want me to.

You're the one who should do this. You're the expert!

Started the process but they ask for a lot more personal information than I really want to give. I think it is better to raise some sats on SN and make a btc donation. Maybe next year SN can make a corporate team.
Let's think about how we can do this.

I noticed the company option. I think @k00b could streamline this process. It would be beneficial for both stackers and SN.
Take a look at the very bottom of the page. https://secure.alsnetwork.org/site/TR?fr_id=1510&pg=entry
Such kindness from you! It restores my faith in humanity.

You donate to ALS which is fine but it won't go in the pockets of runners or it will?

??? runners are running to raise awareness not to earn money. The money goes to ALS research and helping those with ALS. Of course like every charity you don't know exactly how much of your money goes to the people that actually need it and how much gets wasted by administration but if it's good enough for Fran Finney, it's good enough for me. None of us would be in Bitcoin right now if it wasn't for Hal.
