Good day, Stacker Sports Territory.
As a baseball enthusiast I have been discouraged by the perceived decline in baseball viewership over the years. One hears the sport news talking head's mention story lines like the game is "to slow paced" or "not enough action". Which has lead to changing the rules of the game to include pitch clocks and banning the shift.
So wasn't I surprised when I came across "evidence" that it might be some additional reason why it is not baseball's vault.
Personally I think they should super impose the over the shoulder pitcher camera shot on top of image of the whole field from center field camera spot, for 16:9 video feeds. Something like this:
Anyone else got a better video arrangement?

PS: 26 days till pitchers and catchers report for spring training.
Great video. I don't think this is the primary reason baseball ratings are down but it is certainly interesting and think he might be onto something about baseball being suitable for phone consumption. Although I still turn my phone to landscape if I am watching baseball on it.
