yeah, exactly what IamSINGLE says: you did connect with the spiritual side--your conscious mind just not knowing about it.
I never tried to connect with the explicit spiritual side of yoga, so I never did, but I did find it incredibly calming and mind clearing. The fog of my anxiety was generally thinner.
You moved the body in the right ways, aligned body and breath in the ancient ways of the yoga. The reality, found over thousands of years, just re-assert itself whether or not you consciously studied it. That's part of what I find so fantastic about yoga: it just is and does its thing, no matter what we think about it
