Ok. Yesterday I had a disagreement with @Lumor and @denlillaapan on living forever so I want to put this disagreement to bed once and for all through the use of rock solid logic.
Fact 1. I'm very obviously a genius, literally nobody would ever disagree with me because of how apparent it is.
Fact 2. Literally everyone I've ever met is way smarter than I am.
That means this planet is overwhelmingly populated by super geniuses who will undoubtedly solve all of my problems given enough time.
I rest my case. drops microphone
if so, why you arguing?
rug-pulling your logic: they may be way smarter than you (doubtful!), but perhaps not smart enough to create human immortality? :)
Damn it!
I'm not aiming for living forever. I'm aiming to live indefinitely.
Plot twist:
You think you're on the left side of the curve but you just happen to reach the same conclusions/values through having a modest right-of-the-curve galaxy-brain. Only you have what it takes to un-end your life.
It isnt proof, you are just hoping. And hope doesnt get you anywhere without results.
I don't know.... I think my case is pretty rock solid. 😉
Dead people can't care about living people laughing at them for being wrong, therefore until you're proven wrong, I will assume you're 100% right.
I think assuming I'm correct is usually a pretty safe bet....
You must be one of those super geniuses
Fact 1. Incontrovertible.
Fact 2. Empirically verified.
However, you have an implicit assumption.
Implicit Assumption 1. Living forever is possible and the method is discoverable by human intelligence.
I think it's the implicit assumption that's the weak link in this syllogism.
Ok, but everything on the internet is true, and I wrote it on the internet.
Check and mate.
Yes.
