If Ikigai, it will need to pay enough to satisfy a reasonable standard of living. Loving your work is amazing but you don't want to get to the end of your life living poorly.

If FIRE, don't be too tight. You will miss out on too much, in particular social interaction. I know one family that is doing FIRE too hard and their kid is missing out on a lot because of it.
