Since I posted about Australian baseball today, might as well follow it up with a post about the Australian Open tennis tournament that is currently ongoing.
The Australian Open is the first grand slam tennis tournament of the year.
Looks like on the Men's side we are shaping up to see an Alcaraz vs Djokovic quarterfinal. That should be a great match. Shall we ultimately see a Sinner vs Alcaraz final or will Djokovic or Zverev get in the way?
On the Women's side everything lines up for a Sabalenka vs Swiatek final provided neither gets upset along the way.
Is anyone following the tournament?
Sats for all, GR
I've been half-following, and enjoyed Monfils's surprise run so far, though I can't imagine him keeping it up. I joke about liking Sinner because it's fun to say that's who you're rooting for, but I do like watching him, and would love to see him in the finals.
On the women's side, I like Madison Keys when she's on her game, but don't think she's strong enough to go all the way this year. I was low-key rooting for Collins just because it's been a while since someone got booed like that on the court.

Monfils is a fun player and yes Sinner is one of those great names in sports.
To be honest, I haven't been following the women's draw that closely.

A difficult grand slam to follow from Spain as the time difference is huge. I hope that Alcaraz manages to go through Draper and then a clash against Djokovic is going to be interesting. I ama still missing Nadal to be honest.

Nadal was amazing. I am looking forward to the Alcaraz vs Djokovic matchup if they both reach the QFinals.

Most of us are aware of the impact that Nadal has had (along with Federer and Djokovic) but in a few years time we will realize how big it was. This three tennis players have been amazing.

It’s amazing they all played at the same time.

Sinner vs Alcaraz

That will be a good finals matchup if it happens.
