I'm used to minimum wages being hourly rates. There must be some minimum for hours worked to qualify for a monthly minimum wage. Is it 40 hours/week?
I can give you more details about Peru because it is the country I am in. The work days are at least 8 hours, not counting your break time, meaning people spend 9 hours at work. If a person works 5 or 6 hours, they only pay you half of the minimum wage. There are also cases of people who work 10 or even 12 hours and still only get paid the minimum wage, which is crap. Your salary is not calculated based on your hours worked.

Interesting, thanks. That's about what I expected to hear.
