Is it just a work in progress or do you have pictures from inside too?
It should be opening soon: Jan 2025, keep an eye on the website link above. More details in this one-pager:
Introducing Presidio Bitcoin: The Bay Area’s First Bitcoin Co-working & Events Space
In San Francisco’s famous Presidio neighborhood, Presidio Bitcoin aims to become a central hub for the existing bitcoin community and inspire new talent and funding from Silicon Valley.
Presidio Bitcoin will offer the following features
✦ High-quality workstations, conference rooms, and professional amenities like drinks and snacks. Select memberships will be available to open-source contributors, early-stage entrepreneurs, and individuals building bitcoin-focused projects.
✦ Regular community events including monthly meetups, tech talks, networking opportunities, hackathons, and Q&A sessions.
✦ A dedicated recording studio and a regular podcast featuring leaders and up-and-comers from the bitcoin tech ecosystem. Members and content creators can sign up to use the space.
✦ Sweeping views, easy parking, nearby food trucks and a soon-to-open food hall. This is one of SF’s quietest, safest, and cleanest areas, with trails, gyms, beaches, and indoor rock climbing.
**Expected timeline **
The 4,500 sq. ft. office buildout is underway and expected to open in January 2025.
Memberships and visitors
Presidio Bitcoin will host events open to the community and bitcoiners from all over the world. Those interested in membership should stay tuned for information on pricing and how to apply.
Presidio Bitcoin’s origin story
Similar spaces in Nashville, Austin, New York City, and cities worldwide have proven successful and inspired this project. Even though the Bay Area has a high concentration of software developers, bitcoiners represent only a small percentage. Until now, they haven’t had an office designed to meet their needs.
This philanthropic initiative is possible thanks to founding donors Mark Casey and Wences Casares. Mark Casey, Steve Lee, and Haley Berkoe make up the board and have been responsible for Presidio Bitcoin’s early development.
