It's a great article about why we should stop using centralised Social media. It's in French, so I've translated a part of it for you.
I'm afraid of constant spying We voluntarily and almost consciously submit ourselves to permanent spying. I have already told you that even drinks machines use facial recognition!
As Post Tenebras Lire points out, reality increasingly resembles my novel Printers
But reality has completely surpassed fiction, the most emblematic case being what happens to the Uighurs who are constantly monitored, whose slightest image posted on social networks (even if it has been deleted for years) can serve as an excuse to be locked up.
Flee social networks? It's too late for them, because the simple fact of not having a smartphone is considered suspicious. Just like, in France, the fact of using Signal has already been considered a sufficient incriminating element to suspect the user of ecoterrorism. (only one solution to counter this: massively migrate to Signal!)
I say it again and again: you have the right to leave proprietary social networks. You have the right to uninstall Whatsapp for Signal. If you have any doubts, I guarantee you will feel much better afterwards.
Don't come and say you weren't warned.
The big companies that control social networks like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp all handle our data as they please. It is surprising how there are people who still have not realized this and how their privacy 🔏 is constantly violated.

Signal is not much of a refuge
Simplex is far more private and secure

I'd say no less than Nostr. The writer has, however, written in context of France. I'd suggest you read and explore the blog, it's worth it.
