This post is entirely speculative and my own opinion. Would love to hear your opinions.
I think one of the strong aspects of Stacker News is that there is imposed a small cost to each post or comment you make. This makes it a costly environment for bots and spammers to operate within. I am still farely new on this platform, but I think this is the reason why I for the most part only see quality content - or atleast nothing alike the spamming we have seen lately on Twitter.
Musk has been "playing around" with Bitcoin and Doge and I would be surprised if this same mechanic wouldn't be adopted on Twitter.
Bitcoin is growing rapidly, but for a global platform like Twitter, imposing a cost that can only be paid in Bitcoin would probably not be feasible unless you want to strangle all of your users. So I could see Twitter imposing costs that could be in regular fiat currencies and Bitcoin while slowly transitioning into Bitcoin only and phase out any fiat payments.
Anyway, I might be super biased, but from what I am experiencing on this platform I truly believe that is the way to.
What do you think?
There are so many ways how Twitter could be improved, but I don't expect governments to stand idly without fighting back. Because of this, I actually believe that it has the potential to make things worse in a way... It'll be interesting.
A win for me would be for Musk to expose the corruption within Twitter and big tech, and how they colluded to deplatform dissident and reasonable voices and opinions.
