Good for you!
I sold my car and my TV broke about at the same time on 2009. I decided to try living without them for a while and see what happened.
And what happened was that my level of stress dropped, possibly because instead of driving I was walking everywhere on town, and occasionally on pubic transportation (bus or tube), and so did my expenditure on transportation (no gas, insurance, garage, tax, repairs, etc.).
After doing some maths, the amount of money I was saving allowed me to either rent a car for a weekend for short trips, or book for plains or trains for longer trips.
Transportation, both daily on town and travelling, takes longer, but I don't see it as a waste of time, since I always have something to do on my laptop or phone, or some book to read, or simply take time to relax and enjoy the views.
So, I thing not owning a car is not only making me save money, but to also save time, the time I wasted driving.
