The inconvenient thing about Chinese New Year is that a lot of eateries are closed. Thank goodness Bingzi, a fast food chain hailing from Beijing, was not only open for business, but also provided us with a unique culinary experience.
Right off the bat, it displayed empathy toward parents. It didn’t occupy a lot of space, but it nonetheless housed a toy and book corner. And the books were fairly new and looked like they were happy to be there. Wallet-conscious patrons would be delighted with the free flow of drinks.
It’s a great illustration of East meets West. I ordered French fries and chicken nuggets for my boy who didn’t fancy noodles. I also ordered wanton noodles for my wife who is not a fan of fried stuff and my daughter who is crazy about noodles. Stressed-out parents can take a breather here, knowing that different culinary preferences are well accounted for.
I think the best thing for me was the sauces. Tangy without being overwhelmingly spicy. Just the way I like it.
Seems that Bingzi is available in four countries, namely China, Canada, America and Singapore.
