Unless you are drafting Jeanty, there is a good chance whoever you draft is not as good as Mason. Pete will love Mason, he runs like Beastmode.
I am happy for the 49ers to keep him but I don't think he will get a lot of reps with them. I would like to see him thrive elsewhere and preferably in AFC.
I'm not even opposed to the idea. He's exactly the kind of back we need, because the backs we have who might be worth keeping are not that kind of violent power runner.
I just don't expect them to trade a third for another teams backup RB.

Who cares if he is a backup? He was third in the league in rushing after 1/3 of the season. Clearly he can be a number one back. Can he stay healthy with that running style is another question.
