The deadline is on Thursday, February 6. Current funding ends on March 14, 2025. There is no guarantee that payments or benefits will be paid. It would not be in the best interest of the employee to resign via an email.

I view this as a bit of a stand off. Anyone that got this email is getting a warning to come out with their hands up, otherwise it might get ugly.

I've heard there was an official follow-up email that confirmed the legality and bindingness of the Fork in the Road offer.
One thing they'll have to consider is whether their positions might be eliminated anyway.
I think it makes sense for many people, but certainly not all: seven months pay + benefits would be pretty nice, especially since it can be stacked on top of other employment.
