Hmmmmm!
The NFL uses Roman numerals to number Super Bowls to avoid confusion arising from the game's timing. Since the Super Bowl is played in the year following the start of the regular season, labeling it with the season's year could be misleading. Roman numerals provide a clear distinction between the game number and the calendar year. This practice was suggested by Kansas City Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt in 1970, who believed that Roman numerals added a sense of grandeur to the event. The NFL adopted this numbering system starting with Super Bowl V, and retroactively applied it to the first four Super Bowls. The only exception was Super Bowl 50, where the league used Arabic numerals instead of the Roman numeral 'L' due to aesthetic considerations.
