My friend's been a buddy of mine for sometime now, and he's actually the one who introduced me to all this years ago. However, I was surprised to find out he's been holding his bitcoin on Coinbase all this time.

I've delved pretty deep into the world of bitcoin since then, so it was interesting to see that he wasn't familiar with concepts like "cold storage". I ended up spending about an hour on the phone with him, explaining things and showing him how to use tools like mempool to track his transactions on the blockchain.

It was a bit of a challenge guiding him through it over the phone, but he got through it. The whole experience just drove home how early we still are in all this. I'm glad he's now taken control of his bitcoin and is no longer relying on Coinbase.

Onward...

Good job. Especially doing in over the phone with no way to see what he was doing!

This is good.
Now coinbase cant to anything with his bitcoin, and cant delay sending them to him.
Stupid settling times when bitcoin is on the news and popular!
