USAID spending equals less than 1 percent of the federal budget, but, as Statista's Katharina Buchholz reports, The United States Agency for International Development, USAID for short, is the biggest dispenser of U.S. foreign aid, according to the federal website Foreignassistance.gov.
It disbursed almost $44 billion in the fiscal year of 2023 (latest available), with $16 billion going to Ukraine.
You have to see the article for the charts. Unbelievable!!! I just wonder how much of this went the full circle route into our politicians’ pocketless, eh gollum, gollum. Very happy to see this organization put out of bribery business completely. Screw folding it in to State, they have their problems, too.

Thanks for posting that. I did not know how to get it into my post. Amazing isn’t it? How much went to the most corrupt European country, without any audits or guidance. They did better than our own people did in all the disasters!

ok, just curious though. if the world's main currency is dollar which can be printed on demand, who else should dispense the aid? US needs to keep the world happy, so USD is being used globally, so this is part of the package.
Also, don't you think that there is money to be made in Ukraine when the war is over? Who do you think is going to have first dibs other than US?

Why should we pay out money to people, other than when we buy and sell to them? We have no responsibility for them or to keep them happy. They just may be happier if we left them alone.
Also, don't you think that there is money to be made in Ukraine when the war is over? Who do you think is going to have first dibs other than US?
Yes, so we promulgate a war to make money after the Russians and Ukrainians kill each other off? Do I have that right? And we get first dibs on all of the empty land and all of the goodies left behind by all the dead people we helped kill? That is certainly a fine, trustworthy foreign policy, isn’t it? What happened to Jefferson’s idea of leaving the world to its own contrivances?

My original thought was this. If you go with Jefferson's idea, why would you then expect the world to use dollar if you are not doing anything for the world.
