Yet still, as a recent addition to the SN corner of the internet, I think that would have helped.
It's the type of (digital) infrastructure that allowed early cowboys to more easily connect through (digital) railroads to the rest of the world. ;)
You could also just have some sort of shared account by certain members that volunteer to guide/welcome new stackers if the automated message is not clear/they have questions.
