Well, Sats were here before lightning and Sats are the name of the minimal unit a Bitcoin as an open protocol is divisible for.
The Lightning Network is a product created by Lightning Labs. For much that I love it still needs to prove it self as it only has 3-4 years of life.
The lightning emoji is a good representation for the lightning Network.
The Satoshis need something else as they are going to be along humanity for the rest of its existance, and in 200 years it will probably be something 10 times better than the lightning Network we know today.
As Elisabeth Stark says: The Sat is the Native token of Bitcoin.

Heads up: the lightning network wasn’t created by lightning labs. They have a popular implementation of the lightning protocol, but the protocol was created poon and dryja.
I might be wrong but I think core lightning, previously called clightning, was the first implementation.
