I'm a big fan of tennis, I really enjoy playing and watching matches on tv.

Today I was watching the highlights of the Alcaraz vs. Lehecka match, and I asked myself: how long will it take until we see a tournament where the prize is awarded in SATS instead of dollars?

Which sport do you think will be the first to make the jump?

I have wondered this for years. It will come but I don’t think it will be one of the major sports to do it first.

Hey have you seen the workit app? They do workout challenges with bitcoin prizes.

Also, I believe there are surf competitions in El Salvador with bitcoin prizes. When I was in El Zonte I watched one. I don't know how widespread that is though.

My guess would be that this would happen in something small or offbeat. Or that it would be done with an asterisk -- so yes, we might see a UFC purse of "5 Bitcoin," but the winner could also choose to get paid in fiat.

I just don't see any sport where enough competitors are on board with BTC (and specifically on board with it as money, not as an investment).

I've never heard of one. I would guess UFC will be the first to do it.
