just discovered this territory... one of my recent vices is gambling on fiat stocks and discussing this with some friends... i wonder if we could have a daily discussion thread here like on the main SN page where people post what moves they're making, what they're buying/selling...

Actually doing better than I thought. Removed a lot of cash holdings (SGOV- I know should be in BTC) and only down 2%

Just serious question, why do you buy stocks?
Do you think a stock will perform better than BTC?, are the broker fees cheaper than the miner fees?, do you feel more secure if a third party is holding your assets for you?
After I learned all the BTC properties, I can not diversify.
Why do people sports bet? It's fun and IMO a lesser evil than other vices...
And yes I do think some stocks will outperform BTC in the short term...

I'm late to the game, but I would say (in my humble opinion, not financial advice) that FBTC makes "sense" if you sit on the pile of cash in your Fidelity HSA that can be used only for medical expenses. Trades are allowed, and gains are not taxed. So, your future medical expenses will not hurt that much (pun intended). :-) I'm just saying.

Sure you could NOT do HSA and invest in bitcoin with after tax money but cmon.
HSA is triple tax advantaged! And it forces you to set aside money for medical bills so it’s not like u avoid going to the doctors because u don’t want to spend your Bitcoin.
