This is such a good blog entry @lopp. So much to think about...
My gut feeling is this is outcome (which I'm not happy about, but hopeful can still be made to work in the realm of self-soveriengty):
Perhaps we'll never find consensus for a solution that makes everyone happy, in which case I'm not claiming that Bitcoin will fail, but we should expect that the nature of how it's used and by whom will change.
