I'm having trouble connecting to the device from the app. I think I've tried everything, so this is my next step. Advice, tips and tricks are welcome!

Assuming it is similar to the Nano3 have you tried logging in via the webpage interface rather than via the ap? On my one you start with webpage address 192.168.168.168 then login the miner to your network- from there you login to the miners address on your network (in my case 192.168.8.103 (the last three digits changes sometimes depending on what other devices are using the network router)) and then you have overview and settings...think Ive seen something about firmware update in there but never tried it on the Nano3.

Thanks. I have seen this access with the 3, but the 3s manual doesn't mention it. I'll give it a shot.

Good to know if it can be accessed this way with the S3 as I was looking at the S3 recently and assumed it would be the same. Much prefer the webpage access, (have never used the ap) Essential as using only Linux laptop.

I read the manual. You can access through LAN on the same network. Apparently my issues lie elsewhere.

I prefer that too. No luck so far. I just emailed support. I'll let you know what they say about that.

I didn’t know there was a firmware update. Do you have a link?

Oh wait, 3s, nevermind. I just have the 3.

Maybe there isn't. One of the forums mentioned it, but I haven't looked yet. I'm on 0. 29.0.
Maybe I can pick your brain. I can't add the device. Its IP address does show up on my router, but I can't add the device through bluetooth or by manually entering the IP address.
FYI, I am on a 2.4 GHz network. Is there a way to set up the miner without using the app? I think you could with a Nano 3. Before I pack it up and send it back I want to make sure I try everything.

Yeah, so unfortunatley, I just have the nano 3. That one, you just plug in the IP address. I hope you get it working. The 3s looks a million times better.

If it works. Right now it's an expensive little heater!

Have you written up your thoughts on the Nano?
That's the next hasher I'm interested in.

I'm still flailing. I will once I get it up and running and then I'll probably write something up from a real dummy perspective. It's amazing how many mistakes I can make with a simple device.

A real dummy perspective is exactly what I'm looking for.
