I was all prepared. Changed into my running attire straight after school dismissal and before my afternoon meeting. Intended to run to the subway station once my meeting was over.
But when I was sauntering to two out my staff card (yes, we have a log in log out system here. Talk about face time), my colleague was waiting for a Grab car (our version of Uber).
“Want a lift home?” she offered. She lives near me.
Now, I could have said nope to her, and I did say no to her offers before, but I was in the frame of mind to prioritise relationships. So, I said yes and hopped into the car.
This meant that I missed my run today because when I got home, my stomach was growling. So, I cooked Korean spicy instant noodles and watched some Netflix. Nothing remotely healthy.
Still, maintaining a robust social network will help me live a long life, right? So, I made the right decision to accept my friend’s kind offer, right?
Do you strictly keep to your exercise routines, no matter hell or high water?
Yes, particularly if you're just trading one instance of a healthy routine for a positive social interaction.

Yes, I think you did the right thing. Sometimes we need to "escape" from our daily routines, especially when the environment requires. With that decision I think you didn't break any rules, sometimes it's necessary to get out of our comfort zone.
About me...I think I follow the majority of my rules to keep my exercices routine, but not every time... My actual "major project" is to quit smoking, but it's extremelly hard...I know it's all about strict determination, but it's not easy at all in my case :) I hope I will be succesful

Is it possible to replace your smoking habit with another healthier habit? Keep trying! Something will eventually stick.

lol you’re funny dude.
Long story short your growling stomach kept you from running, not friendship!
Could’ve gone on a run anyways after she dropped you off and enjoyed a new route xD

Well I typically have my dinner at 8.30-9pm. If I don’t eat something around 6pm, I will be hangry having to take care of my kids. #nottryingtogiveanexcuse
